Jane Smellie grew up in Hawarden, in Flintshire. Her involvement in eye care began at the age of 18 when she began to study optics at Aston University in Birmingham.

After leaving university, Jane gained valuable experience in opticians throughout the UK until she returned to her roots in 1994 to marry husband Angus at St Deiniol's.

In 1997 she set up her own practice in Whitchurch, Shropshire, and it has grown into a very busy high street practice. Its success is due in part to Jane and her team's knowledge and expertise, but also because they pride themselves on the personal service they give to each patient.

Jane's philosophy of providing the very best in eye care has now been extended to a second practice at the Chester Wellness Centre.
